35mm Bore Nitro Gas Shock Absorbers

41mm Bore Foam Cell Shock Absorbers

This shock absorber contains a micro-cellular foam insert which causes a substantial reduction in shock fade. This means you get longer-wearing and higher performing shock absorbers. 

The main reason for the 41mm foam cells unparalleled resistance to shock fade is its ability to eliminate the bubbles that form, i.e., cavitation and aeration. When a shock absorber is pushed to perform, the oil and gas in the outer chamber start to mix and form bubbles. When this happens, the viscosity of the oil is reduced and as the oil passes through the valve, the resistance is reduced and the shock absorber begins to underperform. The 41mm Foam Cell insert, with its trapped gas microcells, takes up that empty space and protects the shock absorber.

Tough Dog adjustable shocks are built tough for the tough Aussie outback.  It's ABS plastic dust shield serves as an external dust wiper seal and protects the shock absorber's insides from grit, which otherwise can lead to damage of the oil seals around the chrome rod.

When fully extended, the shock is at its most vulnerable to damage from side load. The internal bump stop and piston rod guide ensure the shock is supported at the extremes of its travel.
