Why You Should Upgrade Your Oil Pump
The factory Ford Barra oil pump internals are a notorious weak link in high-performance engines. The OEM gears are made from sintered iron (compressed metal powder) which is brittle and prone to shattering under high RPM, boost, or drivetrain shock. The factory backing plate also flexes, causing pressure loss at high RPM.
Sintered gears shatter like glass. When you hit a hard rev limiter or launch aggressively, the harmonic shock travels straight to the crank-driven oil pump. Factory gears can disintegrate instantly, destroying your engine in seconds. Our Billet gears are engineered to absorb this shock and keep pumping.
The Atomic Solution
The Atomic Billet Oil Pump Rebuild Kit transforms your standard OEM alloy housing into a high-flow, race-ready unit. We replace the weak points with our Gas Nitrided 4340 Billet Steel Gears and a rigid Chromoly Backing Plate. This kit delivers the durability of a full billet pump at a fraction of the cost.
2. Engineered for Longevity
We don't just machine them; we treat them. Our gears undergo a specialized Gas Nitriding process to create a hard, wear-resistant surface while maintaining a tough core.
- Gas Nitrided Gears: Reduces friction and wear against the alloy housing, significantly extending pump life compared to standard billet gears.
- Rigid Backing Plate: Our Gas-Nitrided Chromoly (CRMO) backing plate prevents "plate flex," ensuring oil pressure stays stable even at 8000+ RPM.
- High Pressure Spring: Includes a specific high-pressure relief spring to bump oil pressure up for bearing protection under load.
