- The UHMwPE (Ultra-High Molecular weight Polyethylene) fibres are stronger than steel with high abrasion and friction-resistance.
- Should the rope break during recovery, synthetic is much safer. Unless a steel cable is dampened, the build-up of force will inevitably spring back on breaking. Whereas, the "very low" stretch properties of Dyneema® SK-75 means it will just fall rather than spring back. Synthetic rope can be respliced and recovery can continue, which is impossible with steel.

It's "high-modulus" synthetic fibres are scientifically engineered to overcome the 4 major challenges of winch rope; Abrasion, Bending Fatigue, Compression, Creep Fatigue:
- Abrasion: Running through a fairlead causes abrasion and degrades the fibres. Over a period of time, the fibres will eventually break. A rope made with Dyneema® SK-75 fibres has over 4X longer abrasion lifetime compared to a rope made with generic HMPE and far more than polyester
- Bending fatigue happens each time a rope is flexed under tension. The fibres of a rope will stress when running through a fairlead. With Dyneema rope, bending causes less damage and the number of cycles before failure is far greater than steel or any other synthetic fibre.
- Compression Fatigue happens when a rope becomes slack and the fibres actually compress. The molecular properties engineered into Dyneema® SK-75 prevent compression fatigue. Ropes with Dyneema are not affected by compression fatigue.
- Creep Fatigue - all synthetic ropes will elongate under load and over time at higher temperatures. When combined with abrasion, creep fatigue leads to failure and breakage. Dyneema® SK-75 has 2-4X longer creep lifetime than generic HMPE.
